Vivek Oberoi in a Kannada film

Posted on: August 28, 2009

Efforts are on to sign up Vivek Oberoi for the Kannada film, ‘Sihimuthu’, directed by cinematographer-turned-director Ashok Kashyap.

‘Sihimuthu’ has been in the making for almost a year and a half. The main reason for the delay, according to Ashok Kashyap, is that a Bollywood hero and a Sandalwood star has to participate in a particular song playing themselves. It is reported that Ashok Kashyap tried well known artistes like Amir Khan, Salman Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan for the role. The actors couldn’t make it due to various reasons. When Ashok has contacted Vivek Oberoi, the actor agreed.

Darshan will be playing the Sandalwood hero in the song sequence. Earlier Shivarajkumar was contacted for the same role; but things didn’t work out. The song will be shot in a grand scale and almost Rs 40 lakh would be spent on the song, says Ashok Kashyap.

The movie stars Prem, Komal, Dhyan and Dimple Chopde in important roles.
