Posted August 22, 2009
on:The megastar, who was having quite a bad year (his ambitious political outing took a beating at the Lok Sabha polls), is smiling again: ‘Magadheera’, starring his son Ram Charan Teja, is breaking all collection records!
Chiranjeevi aka Konidela Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad, was born at Narsapuram in Andhra Pradesh, to Konidela Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. Chiru debuted in films with a cameo in ‘Punadi Rallu’ (1978); but his first release was ‘Pranam Kharidu’ (1978). Later , Chiranjeevi had to don several negative roles before he was accepted as hero material.
It was the superhit ‘Khaidi’ (1983) that made him a superstar. A slew of blockbusters followed, including ‘Abhilasha’ (1983), ‘Challenge’ (1984), ‘Pasivadi Pranam’ (1987), ‘Athaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu’ (1989), J’agadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’ (1990), ‘Kodama Simham’ (1990), ‘Gang Leader’ (1991), ‘Rowdy Alludu’ (1991) and ‘Gharana Mogudu’ (1992).
During the mid 1990s, Chiranjeevi suffered a few reverses. But, he made a telling comeback in the late 1990s with a series of mega hit–‘Master’ (1997), ‘Choodalani Vundi’ (1998), ‘Bavagaru Bagunnara’ (1998), ‘Indra’ (2001), ‘Tagore’ (2003), ‘Shankardada MBBS’ (2004), ‘Jai Chiranjeeva’ (2005), and ‘Stalin’ (2006). His last release in a full length role was ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’.
Here is wishing the megastar a Happy B’day!

on:The movie was originally planned with Karthi and Sandhya in the lead and was supposed to have begun in 2006. But, the project was shelved for various reasons.
The film, being produced by Selva’s own company, stars Andrea in the lead. The intense romantic story will be canned by Ramji and will have music scored by GV Prakash Kumar.
The film will be script-driven and is scheduled to be completed within 50 days. Selva’s pet project, ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, starring Karthi in the lead, is almost completed and is gearing up for an early release.

However, official confirmation from the crew revealed that Prabhu has been finalized for this character. Readers may recall that Prabhu shares a special rapport with Editor Raja’s family and his role as an affectionate elder brother to Trisha in Enakkum Unakkum cannot be easily forgotten.
